A Study Control of the Ripe Rot of Grape


Abstract
This study was intended to know the most effective method of controlling the ripe rot of grape by spraying Phaltan, Tuzet, Bordeaux mixture and Sappor mixture and bagging paper bags.
The following fungicides were mixed with 100 gallons of water: In Phaltan section, Phaltan 945g: in Tuzet section, Tuzet 126g; in Bordeaux mixture section, 3.5-3.5-100 and in Sapporo mixture section, Bordeaux mixture 7-7-100 and soda arsenate solution. Fungicides were sprayed from June 10th to August 6th at intervals of about 10 days and bagging was done on June 20th. The variety of grapes used for this study was Cambell Early.
In both percent of diseased clusters and percent of rot clusters bagging section was the least, namely bagging section was the most effective in controlling the ripe rot of grape. Tuzet section was more effective and other fungicides were fairly effective to the check.
